Create your own adorable heart-shaped bag with this fun and easy craft! This project is a great way to get creative with felt, paint, and stitching. Whether you sew or glue, you’ll have a charming handmade accessory in no time!
What you'll need:
Felt sheets
Acrylic paint or fabric paint
Paintbrush
Scissors
Needle and thread
Glue (optional for a no-sew version )
How to:
1. Make the Handles
Cut of two strips of felt around 30cm long and 3cm wide – these will be your bag handles.
2. Cut Out the Heart Shapes
Cut two identical heart shapes from your felt sheets. These will form the front and back of your bag. If you’d like, sketch the heart on paper first to test the shape and size before cutting.
3. Decorate Your Hearts
Use acrylic or fabric paint to decorate your heart shapes with fun patterns, designs, or initials. Get creative! Let the paint dry completely before moving on.
4. Attach the Handles
Sew one felt strip to the top of each heart shape to create the bag handles.
If using glue, attach the handles securely and let them dry.
5. Assemble the Bag
Place the two heart shapes on top of each other and sew around the edges, leaving the top open to form the bag.
If you prefer a no-sew option, apply a thin line of glue around the edges (again, leaving the top open). Press both hearts together and leave to completely dry.
